how I work
Design is the application of artistic inspiration to achieve specific goals. My design solutions are created intuitively, but my intuition is informed by thorough research and collaboration with my clients.
Discovery
When you work with me, the first thing you’ll notice is the effort I put into learning about your business and your audience. I do this for two reasons:
- The better I understand your company, the better I’ll be able to create a look and feel for your communications that is distinctive and appropriate for your industry and audience.
- Our ultimate aim to connect with your audience, get them to understand and embrace your message. As an outsider, I can identify the messages and concepts that are difficult to understand or communicate.
Design
Once I’ve thoroughly defined the project, I start designing. This is when the solution starts to come to life. I’ll explore several options for how the final solution will look and feel. Initial concepts will be presented to you for review and discussion.
Collaborate, refine and expand
We focus on a single design solution, refine it, and expand it across all of the key deliverables.
Build
Once the design solution has been refined and finalized, all of the final components are created, whether they are electronic keylines for print production or web pages. This is also when any back-end web programming is integrated with the front-end design.
Quality Assurance, Testing and Delivery
All deliverables are proofed by the client and any necessary revisions are made. Web sites are tested and debugged. Print projects are supervised from delivery of files, through proofing, and press checks if necessary.
